October 14, 2006

Thankfully Steven seems to be back to his happy self. He has been dealing with an ear infection for what seems like forever. Yesterday the smiles came back and today he was his usual happy self. He crawls all over though his crawling right now looks more like a fish out of water, but he gets to where he wants to go. Abby turned 8 yesterday so tomorrow we're going to Jeepers for her birthday party. It's a really great place for kids. Maybe not so great if you're an adult trying to retain your sanity. It has indoor rides like a roller coaster and bumper cars. It has a little room full of parakeets that kids can go in and feed and a little "stream" you can sift for semiprecious stones in. They even have a "dig" site where kids can dig up fossils and artifacts. It is expensive which is the one big draw back. It's free to get into and to go in there big climb-on-slide-down area but the rides and even feeding the birds costs money. With Steven having an early April birthday I can see him wanting to have parties there someday.
Evie is so cute. I have to share. Today I had to work and I forgot my sandwich I was going to have for lunch. I called to tell Ken to put it back in the fridge and about an hour or so later in came Evie with Ken and Steven trailing behind her and she has my sub sandwich in her hand. She comes running towards me holding it out saying "Here Ma Ma, your "wunch" for you". So I gave her a bog hug and said "Thank you so much honey" and she says in just the cutest voice "your welcome Ma Ma". It just reminds me of how big she's getting. Steven is already doing the "da da da da da" so I can only imagine when he's going to start talking. Evie spoke fairly late and I an certain she was just waiting until she had something worth saying. She never did the "da da da" or "ma ma ma" her first word just came out one day as "mom". She said "mom" then "hi" then "Ocar" (Oscar, our neighbors dog) then "Daddy". Of course Daddy was more style="font-family:Verdana;color:#cc6600;">"Da-eee" for a while. But she was up walking very well by 10 months. The doctor is predicting he'll be walking by 9 months. Better get some Robeez for him soon! (a soft soled baby shoe that I had for Evie)
